The collection contains the records of the National Art Education Association (minutes, financial reports, membership records, convention proceedings, correspondence, research papers, theses, and publications), Eastern Arts Association (newsletters, bulletins, 1921-1962, and convention records), and Pacific Arts Association (bulletins, newsletters, and correspondence). The materials cover the late nineteenth and entire twentieth centuries on art, the development of art education and theory, organizational development and growth, and the general history of American education throughout this period. There are also records of the Southeastern Art Association (constitution, bylaws, committee records, convention reports, bulletins, 1931-1963), Western Arts Association (annual reports, convention reports and bulletins, 1925-1949, bylaws, and Western Drawing and Manual Training Association books), and International Society of Education Through Art (financial records, educational materials, and journals). Also, includes art curricula, microfilm and microfiche of art periodicals and publications on training and careers in art education, photograph albums from the associations' conventions, 1948-1976, and color slides of childrens' artwork, designing art education programs, and examples of artistic techniques.
